About Coral Bay

Coral Bay is 25 minutes from Cruz Bay and considered the quieter, laid-back side of the island. When staying at your Caribbean luxury villa, its sometimes difficult to leave the peace and quiet of your own sancuary. However, some of the most private beaches are located minutes from your Caribbean villa on this side of St. John. Saltpond, Lameshur, Maho and Francis Bays are the closest beaches and only a few minutes away. Haulover at East End is the best snorkeling around.

Hurricane Hole is the lovely scene directly in front of Mooncottage is where sailors for centuries have kept their ships in safe harbor from strong winds tucked within the narrow inlets long before Caribbean luxury villas became part of the scarecely populated landscape of Coral Bay. Hurricane Hole is a both a miracle and a living postcard. After visiting St. John a few years ago, former President Bill Clinton declared the coral reefs surrounding St. John an underwater National Park ... and Hurricane Hole, right in front of Mooncottage, is part of the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument--as National Parks go as important as Mount Rushmore. The view in front will remain undeveloped forever. (thanks Bill!)

Cruz Bay is nice. But Coral Bay rocks.
