About St. John
St. John is a very safe and special place and the perfect haven for a luxury Caribbean cottage rental like Mooncottage. Historically significant in Caribbean history, two-thirds of this pristine tropical paradise is National Park-so it is clean and not too crowded in any season. The native West Indian people are shy but kind. Greet everyone with a pleasant "Good Morning”, Good Afternoon” or Good Evening” and everyting' will be alright.
The coral reef surrounding the island is also part of the National Park and provides St. John with its unique underwater environmental preserve. When enjoying any stay in St. John, and especially when you choose to stay in Caribbean cottage rentals, it's mandatory to get out into the island itself and explore. When traveling through this tiny island, you will notice both lush green hills and clear turquoise waters. There are over 35 sandy beaches and numerous historic ruins for you to explore and enjoy. The National Park Visitors Center in Cruz Bay has a wealth of information about the park's many interesting activities, but discovering it all on your own is half the fun.
