Our personal tip is to rent on St. Thomas—at Dependable. Ask for Linda and be sure to tell them Mooncottage sent you. This is a nice service. You can be met and dropped off at the airport in St Thomas and then simply drive yourself to the Car Ferry at Red Hook to St. John where your manager will be waiting for you. NOTE: These cars are very well maintained, but, if something goes wrong with the car, they are all the way in St. Thomas which could be more difficult. This hasn’t happened yet though to any of our guests.

Another St. Thomas car rental company we like a lot is Amalie. Their cars are brand new … and they pick you up at the airport with the car. The only deal is, their cars are SO new, that any damage will be noticed … and St. John is a little rough and tumble. Beware as you will get billed for scratches and dents. But, they are a first-class organization.
